Who TF are Thee Ancient Asses?!
Thee Ancient Asses are an Americana/Punk power trio comprised of Jon Hanford (guitar, vocals), Akshay Bimbhet (drums, vocals), and Joshua Lincoln (bass, vocals). Based in Austin, TX.
Thee Ancient Asses got to work quickly, recording their 2023 debut album, Shift The Paradigm, with legendary producer Jack Endino putting his magic touch on the raw drum-guitar duo.
Coming August 19, 2025, Shift The Paradigm is getting brand-new cover art (pictured above) from visionary artist Kait Vicious. Thee Ancient Asses will celebrate the release that night with a live performance on the Local Sets ATX show in downtown Austin.
The band was birthed at Akshay’s and Jon’s Desert Daze 2022 campsite, just over 14 years since the pair first met as randomly assigned roommates while interning in New York City, pursuing careers unrelated to music.
